An easy-to-sew minaudière for beginners

You don’t need much sewing experience: the bag is simply closed with a snap fastener, which is attached with pliers. For the rest, it’s just a matter of assembling rectangles of fabric and taking care to round off the edges and corners to get a neat, clean result.
If you already have one or two seams under your belt, our pattern can help you learn how to perfect the all-important finishing touch.
For fabrics, the pattern requires only two 36 cm x 30 cm rectangles, a good way to use fabric scraps or patchwork coupons.
If you want to give it a festive touch, you can have fun choosing a fabric with sequins or brocade. You’ll also need a thick enough fusible web to hold the bag in place. It can’t be too soft!
A backpack for traveling moms
Is your mom the type who likes to carry a book, a knitting book, a tablet and a crossword puzzle? You can sew her the Petite Canette backpack pattern, which has a trendy, elegant shape.
